Data Deletion

You can ask us to delete your MAUNi account and the personal data associated with it at any time, whichever way you originally signed up — email, WhatsApp, Facebook, Google, Apple, LinkedIn, or Microsoft.

How to request deletion

1. Email david@uact.org.za from the email address or phone number linked to your account, with the subject line “Delete my MAUNi data.”
2. We will confirm your identity to protect your account from unauthorised deletion requests.
3. We will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except for information we are required to keep for legal, safety, or certification-record purposes (for example CLERO or ISO/IEC 17024 records), which we will retain only as long as required and explain to you on request.

If you signed in with Facebook

Removing MAUNi’s access from your Facebook account settings (Facebook → Settings → Apps and Websites) stops MAUNi from receiving any further data from Facebook, but it does not automatically delete your existing MAUNi account. Please also follow the steps above so we can delete your MAUNi data.

What gets deleted

Your profile information, saved conversations, journal entries, reflections, goals, and mood check-ins are deleted or anonymised. Records we are legally or contractually required to retain (for example certain training, assessment, or certification records) are kept only as long as necessary and are not used for any other purpose.
